Oh, how I miss Los Angeles. This April, the Los Angeles Visionaries Association (LAVA) is hosting a literary salon that sounds simply fantastic: a literary salon dedicated to one of the greatest crime writers of the 20th century, Dashiell Hammett, author of The Maltese Falcon and The Thin Man.
The event will be attended by his granddaughter, so attendees are sure to get the inside scoop on Hammett’s glamorous and complicated personal life. The master of noir fiction is pictured on the right as his character Nick Charles on the book cover for the first Thin Man novel.
