We’re not talking about the video game.
TNT has ordered six episodes of “LA Noir,” a period crime drama, from former Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont. The show features a plot very similar to the game: an ex-Marine turned LAPD officer takes the helm of the mob squad and goes after notorious gangster Mickey Cohen.
Never heard of Mickey Cohen? He’s a crime boss on the same level as Al Capone and Lucky Luciano. There’s a new book about his life, Mickey Cohen: The Life and Times of LA’s Notorious Mobster, which looks really interesting.
